Deliverables & File Formats
Clear results you can keep, share, and build on.
I work in RootsMagic 11 as my research home base, but I deliver your results in formats that work for you—even if you do not use RootsMagic.
What you will receive
- A clear written summary of findings
- Source citations for key facts
- A research log (what was searched, where, and results)
- Next-step recommendations
Tree delivery options
1) GEDCOM (.ged) — universal tree file
GEDCOM files can be imported into many genealogy tools and platforms. This is the most portable way to deliver your tree.
2) RootsMagic files (optional)
If you use RootsMagic (or want to), I can also include:
- RootsMagic database file (for ongoing work)
- RootsMagic backup file (for safekeeping)
3) Reports (PDF, and optionally Word)
You will receive polished, easy-to-read reports you can keep, print, or share.
Records and media (optional)
If your project includes document images or family photos, I can provide an organized folder structure so everything stays together.
- Record copies/links (when available and permitted)
- Media folder (images and documents)
- Simple naming so files are easy to find
